Exploring Croatia, Montenegro and Albania
Always on the quest to enhance our focused expertise of Croatia and the region, I spent most of October along the Adriatic Coast. I dug deeper into Dalmatia, discovering some great hidden destinations there, as well as revisiting and reviewing some of our favorite properties and exclusive experiences.
My return to Montenegro included an elegant new hotel, several boutique accommodations, and some excellent experiences for luxury and adventure clients. Investments in recent years have taken root, expanding the alluring opportunities in small and captivating Montenegro.
Albania was also on my itinerary – a fascinating intensely historic land, emerging after nearly a half-century of isolation. Albanians adore Americans and are eager to proudly share their colorful culture and customs with visitors. There are some logistical challenges but access has improved measurably and travelers reap unique rewards by venturing about Albania.
Croatia, Montenegro, and Albania all boast exquisite coastlines of crystal clarity, amazing wrecks and caves to dive, and world class sailing. To roam inland reveals beautiful mountains and countryside, lovely lakes and rivers, replete with amazing hiking, biking, rafting, fishing, and other recreational advantages.
Step back in history with ancient ruins, sacred destinations, Byzantine structures and medieval towns. Learn of the legends still followed and honored. And enjoy, real time, delectable fresh and local cuisine accompanied by delicious wines and spirits influenced by centuries of tradition.
In 2016, I totaled more than two months in the region. And in 2015 I spent a similar amount of time there as well. I’ve been to Croatia at least 20 times and lived there for a year. All of us with Adventures Croatia are deeply engaged and experienced specialists in Croatia and the area. We have excellent and nurtured relationships with our colleagues in country.
