9 Day Land Tour

Starting in Venice, Italy and then Visiting: ROVINJ – MOTOVUN – BUZET – GROZNJAN – PLITVICE LAKES – SPLIT – TROGIR – SOLTA – STON – DUBROVNIK


Day 1 – Transfer from Venice to ROVINJ   

 Itinerary:

  • Already in Venice, Italy? Head to the nearest pier to embark on your private Vaporetto transfer to Piazzale Roma.  
  • Upon arrival, meet your driver at the Piazzale Roma (driver will have your name sign) and transfer to Rovinj. 
  • Upon arrival, check-in at the hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure to explore Rovinj on your own. 
  • Overnight. 

Day 2 –  ROVINJ – ISTRIA TOUR – ROVINJ  

Itinerary:

  • Breakfast at the hotel. 
  • This morning pick up your rented vehicle, meet your guide and start this tour of the Istrian peninsula including truffle hunt experience in Buzet and visits to Motovun and Groznjan. 
  • Your first stop is Motovun, one of the most charming places in Istria. Motovun is a captivating little town perched on a 277m hill in the Mirna River Valley. Within the walls, an atmospheric cluster of Romanesque and Gothic buildings houses a smattering of artist studios. 
  • After your exploration of Motovun, head for the nearby city of Buzet known as the truffle center and start your truffle hunt experience.  
  • During your roaming for this delicacy, feel all the enchantments and beauties of the hunt, while the forest is quiet, comforting, and when adrenaline reaches its climax, due to the discovery of truffles. Friendly hosts will tell you all about truffles, the tradition of truffle hunting, and their truffle hunting dogs.  
  •  Tasting of truffle products will be prepared for you in beautiful surroundings, the products you can buy in their shop.  
  • After this truly memorable experience, head for the town of Groznjan, an ancient city on a hill 748 feet above the sea level.  
  • Groznjan is known as a local haven for artists and other creative types. Though it was nearly abandoned by the 1950s, this medieval town gained a new lease on life when painters, musicians, and other artists began to flock here.  
  • Today, you can wander its cobbled alleys and discover numerous galleries and art studios — and even pick up some unique souvenirs. 
  • Afterward, head back for Rovinj to enjoy the evening at leisure and overnight. 

Day 3 – ROVINJ – PLITVICE LAKES NATIONAL PARK – SPLIT 

Itinerary:

  • Breakfast at the hotel and check out.  
  • Head for a truly amazing and spectacular stop – the Plitvice Lakes National Park. 
  • Upon arrival, explore Plitvice Lakes on your own. 
  • The first Croatian national park and a UNESCO World Heritage site, Plitvice lakes offer its visitors a blend of vivid colors, sounds and smells that are spectacular and memorable.  
  • Its 16 cascading lakes and numerous waterfalls make up one of the greatest wonders of the world. The lakes are a mesmerizing view of green and blue accompanied by the thundering sounds of the many waterfalls that connect the lakes to create a true paradise on Earth.  
  • We recommend lunch in a traditional restaurant. Try ham, “basa” cottage cheese, lamb under iron cover, grilled meats, baked potatoes, trout, sour milk, the Lika fritters, and the Lika strudels made of cheese, apple or plum, are just some of the specialties of this region. 
  • After Plitvice Lakes, continue towards Split. 
  • Upon arrival, check-in at your hotel and relax. 
  • Overnight. 

Day 4 – SPLIT – TROGIR – SPLIT 

Itinerary:

  • Breakfast at the hotel. 
  • Meet your guide at the hotel lobby and head for a 45-min ride to Trogir.  
  • The tour will help you get to know the tiny and unique town of Trogir – beautifully set within medieval walls, its streets knotted and maze-like. It’s fronted by a wide seaside promenade lined with bars and cafes, and yachts in the summer.  
  • Trogir is unique among Dalmatian towns for its profuse collection of Romanesque and Renaissance architecture along with its magnificent cathedral, earned a UNESCO World Heritage status in 1997. 
  • Afterward, return to Split. 
  • Your tour will cover the Diocletian’s Palace and the surrounding medieval highlights.  
  • Walk inside Diocletian’s Palace, once the summer residence of the Roman emperor Diocletian and you’ll see bars, restaurants, and shops thriving amidst the atmospheric old walls where Split life has been going on since the 4th century. 
  • Split has risen on the foundation of the palace of Roman Emperor Diocletian built in 305 AD. Various cultural monuments are located inside and outside the Diocletian’s Palace walls, as Renaissance Prokurative Square, noble family’s palaces, churches, galleries, and museums. 
  • After the tour, drop off your rented vehicle. 
  • Spend the rest of the day at leisure. 
  • Riva Harbor, known as the Riva, sits right along the coast of the Adriatic Sea and is a place to relax, stop at a cafe, people watch, or grab a bite to eat. Palm trees line the walkway where you can enjoy beautiful views and watch the boats coming in and out of the harbor. Day or night, there is always something going on along the Riva!  
  • Overnight. 

Day 5 – SPLIT – ŠOLTA   

 Itinerary:

  • Breakfast at the hotel and check out. 
  • Head towards the pier where you will embark a ferry to Šolta, 1h ride away.
  • Upon arrival, meet your driver and head to Hotel.
  • Check-in and relax.  
  • Enjoy sun and sea rest of the day and explore Maslinica on your own.  
  • Overnight.  

Day 6 – ŠOLTA – SPLIT 

Itinerary:

  • Breakfast at the hotel and check out.  
  • Meet your tour representative and head for olive oil, wine and honey tasting tour of Island of Šolta.  
  • Šolta is famous for its charming villages, untouched beauty and its world-famous olive oil—including a Šoltanka variety that only grows here!  
  • Because of its climate and geographical position, soil and sunny days Šolta is also famous for a variety of grapes called Dobricic that has been traced to one of the ancestors of Plavac Mali and for its famous rosemary honey.  
  • We are going to visit the Island’s best producers, to see what they are doing and taste the products they offer with great passion. We will visit olive oil producers; there you will have the opportunity to learn how olive oil is made.  
  • Our tour continues to a local winery. Tasting two 2 wines in the amazing courtyard of a family stone house in the middle of the old Dalmatian village is an unforgettable experience.   
  • At the end, we are going to visit honey makers at their beautiful estate overlooking the sea. They will proudly present to you their products and you will learn why rosemary honey from Šolta is considered to be one of the world’s best. 
  • After the tour, head to Rogač pier where you will embark the ferry for Split.  
  • Upon arrival, head to the hotel.  
  • Check-in, time at leisure and overnight.  
  • Spend the evening at leisure and overnight.

Day 7 –  SPLIT – STON – DUBROVNIK  

Itinerary:

  • Breakfast at the hotel and check out. 
  • Meet your driver and head for a 3-hour drive towards Ston.  
  • Admire the little village of Ston, famous for its magnificent city walls fortification complex dating back to the 14th century.  
  • Next is a spectacular gourmet tour where you will have a chance to learn about the production of these world-famous delicacies.  
  • Your host will take you on a boat ride to his oyster farm on the sea where you will get a chance to learn about oyster production. Taste the oysters fresh out of the sea or try to open one on the spot. Drizzle a little lemon juice on them and have a taste of the sea.  
  • The tour will be rounded up with a great seafood lunch. 
  • Afterward, enjoy a tour of the winery and casual tasting. This winery is one of the oldest and best in Croatia where you can taste a selection of wines. 
  • After the tour at the winery, continue towards Dubrovnik that is an hour’s drive away. 
  • Upon arrival, check-in at the hotel and enjoy some time at leisure. 
  • Overnight.

Day 8 – DUBROVNIK

Itinerary:

  • Breakfast at the hotel. 
  • Meet your driver and head to Pile Gate (Old Town). Upon arrival, meet your guide and head for a private walking tour of Dubrovnik. 
  • Regardless of whether you are visiting Dubrovnik for the first time or the hundredth, the sense of awe never fails to descend when you set eyes on the beauty of the old town. Indeed, it’s hard to imagine anyone becoming jaded by the city’s marble streets, baroque buildings and the endless shimmer of the Adriatic. 
  • Be inspired by a walk along the UNESCO landmark – ancient city walls that have protected a civilized, sophisticated republic for centuries. System of white Ston walls constructed by forts, bastions, casemates, towers, and detached forts 1.940-meter long. 
  • After the tour, time at leisure to further discover Dubrovnik on your own. 
  • Take the cable car ride up to Mt Srđ; marvel at the Mediterranean lifestyle and the interplay of light and stone; trace the rise and fall of Dubrovnik in museums replete with art and artifacts; exhaust yourself retracing history. Be amazed by the breathtaking views of the Old City of Dubrovnik, the crystal clear Adriatic Sea and the numerous islands.  
  • In the evening, have an exclusive dinner in the most famous restaurant in the City! This unique restaurant is recently awarded a Michelin star. Dubrovnik’s glitziest restaurant offers fine dining at its best, with flavorsome, beautifully presented, creative cuisine, and slick, professional service. The setting is unrivaled, on top of the city walls with tables positioned so you can peer through the battlements over the harbor. 
  • Transfer back to the hotel on your own and overnight

Day 9 – DUBROVNIK DEPARTURE 

 Itinerary:

  • Breakfast at hotel and check out. 
  • Private transfer to Dubrovnik airport for outbound flight (flight not included).
