This hidden gem in Croatia is located in the province of Slavonia, a three-hour drive east of Zagreb. There is a diverse range of flora and fauna in its woodlands and green meadows, ideal for hiking or picnics.
Several rivers and streams flow through the park, including Voćin, Veliki, and Mali Jankovac, where you can cool off on a hot day.
Begin your journey through this UNESCO geopark in the Jankovac forest park. This mountain valley is full of freshness and romance. Find canoes for hire, where you can go for a paddle on the Jankovac lake or choose to bike along the many cycling trails, enjoying the fairytale scenery. The Jankovac waterfall, the pride of the area, is a must-visit.
Dugi Otok
Literally translated, this island’s name means ‘long island’, stretching 28 miles along the Dalmatian coast. It is located close to Zadar on the mainland and easily reachable by ferry from the city.
The southern part of the island is covered by Telašćica Nature Park, which has vivid landscapes of mesmerizing contrasts. Take time to explore the dramatic cliffs, towering 650 feet over the water, and the saltwater lake, Mir. Telašćica Bay, which is protected from the wind, has lovely still and clear waters. The nature park is wonderful to walk through, with breathtaking views over the Adriatic Sea.
Dugi Otok has meadows full of flowers, olive groves, and rich Mediterranean vegetation, with over 300 plant species. The small town of Bozava can be found on the northwestern side of the island, surrounded by towering pine trees.
Sakarun Beach is known as one of the best Croatian beaches, with white sandy shores and shallow turquoise waters. Another must-see beach is Veli Rat Beach, a small pebble beach next to the Veli Rat Lighthouse. Climb the lighthouse for beautiful panoramic views of the surrounding area. Brbišćica Bay is a small, secluded bay where you can go kayaking in the summer months.
Omiš
Omiš is a small town and port located at the mouth of the Cetina River. It is frequently regarded as one of the prettiest towns in Croatia, with the mountains of Mosor and Dinara as a stunning backdrop.
Numerous beaches and bays, rich vegetation, fresh air and crystal blue sea make Omis Riviera the perfect place to escape the stress and rush of modern life. Wander through the old town and up to the Mirabella Fortress, a 13th century castle. The views here are astounding, looking over the old town and the river below.

The mythical Motovun Forest at the base of the town is known for its delicious truffles. Accompany a licensed truffle hunter and their dog, where you can learn about this rare delicacy and even find some yourself.
