Learn more about each day of Adventures Croatia’s island-hopping experience for intrepid travelers from around the world.
Day One: Saturday, June 26th, 2021
On the first day of this Croatian Island Hopping experience, you are welcomed to Split Harbor from the Split airport by a representative of this adventure. After checking in, you can settle in on the boat. There’s going to be plenty of time to explore Split itself with an expert tour guide. The first is going to be spent aboard the yacht in Split. This is the second-largest city in Croatia and is located along the Dalmatian Coast.
Get to Know the Dalmatian Coast
When you sail Croatia’s amazing islands, you are going to discover that the country has four historical regions, including Dalmatia. The Dalmatian coast is one of the most stunning coastlines in all of Europe. It features high mountains and lots of ancient sites, and you can enjoy the very best of the warm Mediterranean climate. It’s no secret that Dalmatia is one of the most beautiful places in the world.
Day Two
On the second day of the trip, we sail from Split to Milna to Hvar. Once you depart from Split, you’re going to be heading towards Brac for a fun time of swimming at the Zlatni Rat beach near Bol, which extends into the Adriatic Sea by about 500 meters. The shape of this pebbly beach changes depending on what kinds of winds there are. The Mediterranean fishing village of Milna is a potential stopping place in the case of bad weather.
The sailing tour then proceeds towards Croatia’s longest island, Hvar, which also happens to be the sunniest in Europe. On this stunning island, you can enjoy the second of your guided tours and get some time to explore the rich history of the town. The Hvar harbor has a limited capacity, so we might use Stari Grad port instead if there’s no docking room available.
Experience the Adriatic Sea
Between the Italian Peninsula and the Balkans is a body of water known as the Adriatic Sea. It makes up the northernmost part of the Mediterranean Sea and features many islands that you are going to see along your sailing trip. These include Korcula, Mljet, and Vis.
Day Three
As you proceed to sail the Croatian islands, the third day takes you first to Bisevo island, where the magical world-famous Blue cave is located. From here, the tour heads to the mysterious island of Vis. If you are interested in learning more about Croatian naval and military history, then Vis may be the best part of the whole itinerary. There’s available time in the evening to explore the history and culture of this particular site. Nature lovers and adventurers also tend to drift towards this part of the Croatian coastline city.
Day Four
The fourth day takes you for some early sailing from the island of Vis to Korcula. The sea at this part of the Mediterranean journey is peaceful and clear. Korcula is known for its vineyards and olive groves. It also has many small villages and many a bay and cove area to visit further.
On arrival in this medieval city, also referred to as Little Dubrovnik, in the afternoon, you can set off on an interesting tour of its ancient paths. There’s also a lot of free time available afterward to go out for coffee or wine or even join others for a dip in the sea. You also get to relax overnight in Little Dubrovnik after a day of enjoying the beautiful bay area.
Day Five
From Little Dubrovnik to Mljet, the fifth day takes your Croatia Island Hopping experience to a real gem on the Mediterranean coast. Travel with us to the amazing highly forested island of Mljet on this part of the visit. You are going to love Veliko and Malo Jezero, the two saltwater lakes on the island of Mljet. For more history of this part of the country and an opportunity to explore the Mljet National Park, this part of the adventure is one to look forward to.
Discover Mljet National Park
The National Park on the island of Mljet has so much to cover. Many of our customers take advantage of one of the optional tours of the park with the cruise’s manager or skipper. If you are available, this is one to join. The symbol of the National Park is the Benedictine monastery, which is located along the Veliko and Jezero lakes and is also one of the most visited historical local spots along the Mediterranean coastline. Ulysses, the Greek hero, counted the National Park among his best holiday destinations.
Day Six
From Mljet, we sail early in the morning of the next day to a small town on the Croatian coastline known as Slano. This Croatian town features a 2km-long bay. After Slano, our travel takes us to Ston, where your taste buds are in for a treat. Ston is near Dubrovnik. It also features stunning city architecture and exceptional scenery. Some of the foods you might want to sample from this town’s rich menu include delicious oysters and mussels, which you can learn about firsthand during a visit to a local oyster farm. You’re also going to have the opportunity to sample the local wine options as you relax in this Croatian town.
Day Seven
Friday takes you sailing early in the morning from Slano to the Elaphiti Islands. From this swimming hotspot, we proceed to our final part of the trip, which is Dubrovnik. You can enjoy lunch on board as the boat sails along the walls of the old city. Once in Dubrovnik, the last of the tour takes you around Old Town. From this Adriatic Sea coastline city, you may join fellow travelers and explore the location for yourself on the best of our sailing tours. The final night of the trip is going to be spent in Dubrovnik.
Day Eight
With all the fun and exploring from Split to Dubrovnik completed, the final day of the journey, a Saturday, is a time to wrap up the adventure. After having breakfast onboard in Dubrovnik, each member of the Croatia Island Hopping experience can disembark and transfer to the airport.
