Day 3: Vienna – Bratislava
Bratislava - Adventures Croatia - Winter Nights and Sparkly Lights Tour Known as Pressburg to German-speakers or Pozsony to Hungarian-speakers, Bratislava (Slovakia) got its present name only 90 years ago.  But the city has a long and proud history that dates back to pre-Roman times. The hillsides on the edge of the city have been home to vineyards for centuries, and close to Bratislava are wine towns where you can taste the best - and it is startlingly good! - that Slovakia has to offer. In the city itself, there is plenty to see and do.  Bratislava's long history - as home to Celts, Romans, Germans, Hungarians, Jews, and of course Slovaks - means there is an impressive range of architecture, languages, and cuisine. The handsome homes of the Austro-Hungarian noble families who built palaces here dot the city, and many of them are now open to the public as museums and galleries.  The castle, with its long and chequered history (it has been destroyed more than once), is now undergoing a major restoration.  There are great views over the medieval old town and the Danube valley from its fortifications. Bratislava was once one of the most important centers of Jewish learning in Europe.  A unique memorial to its most renowned rabbi, the Chatam Sofer, and the city's Museum of Jewish Culture celebrate this heritage. Itinerary
  • Meeting with your driver and a private transfer from Vienna to Bratislava with en-route stop on the way at McArthurGlen Designer Outlet Parndorf, Austria (closed on Sundays)
  • After shopping onward drive towards Bratislava
  • Check into your Hotel in Bratislava (4* or above), meeting with your guide and an evening walking city tour
  • Dinner with wine tasting followed by time at leisure and an overnight

Day 4: Bratislava – Budapest
Budapest’s beauty is not all God-given; man has played a role in shaping this pretty face too. Architecturally, Budapest (Hungary) is a treasure, with enough baroque, neoclassical, Eclectic and art nouveau (Secessionist) buildings to satisfy anyone’s appetite. Overall, though, Budapest has a fin-de-siècle feel to it, for it was then, during the capital’s ‘golden age’, that most of what you see today was built. Nearly every building has some interesting or unusual detail, from art nouveau glazed tiles and neoclassical bas-reliefs to bullet holes and shrapnel scorings leftover from WWII and the 1956 Uprising that still cries out in silent fury. Itinerary
  • Private transfer from Bratislava to Budapest
  • Check into your hotel in Budapest (4* or above)
  • If you want to see the most romantic face of Budapest take a night cruise on the Danube. Have a wonderful evening with a 4-course buffet dinner, live gypsy music, and admire the beautiful cityscape draped in warm colors by the setting sun

Austria’s second-largest city is probably Austria’s most relaxed, and, after Vienna, it is also Austria’s liveliest for after-hours pursuits. It’s an attractive place with bristling green parkland, red rooftops, and a small, fast-flowing river gushing through its center. Architecturally, it has Renaissance courtyards and provincial baroque palaces complemented by innovative modern designs. Styria’s capital also has a very beautiful bluff connected to the center by steps, a funicular, and a glass lift.
