Day 2 – Zadar – Krka Waterfalls National Park Tour – Plastovo
Morning in Zadar at leisure. In the early afternoon, meet your guide for a private tour to beautiful Krka Waterfalls National Park. Thanks to the constant process of travertine building, the Krka River is a karst phenomenon, carving a spectacular canyon on its 70 kilometers journey from the foothills of the Dinaric Alps to the amazing estuary under the walls of historic Šibenik. Walk the winding wooden paths through the main park area and visit the ethno museum housed in one of the old mills at Skradinski Buk. Afterward, head to the neighboring village of Plastovo where you will enjoy an exclusive wine pairing dinner. Return to Zadar late in the evening.
Day 3 – Zadar – Šibenik – Trogir – Split
Private morning transfer to Split. En-route you will first stop in Šibenik. Browse this beautiful historic town on your own before lunch. Dine on the outside terrace of a local restaurant that just cannot be described by words. Then another en route stop in Trogir, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Arrival to Split late in the afternoon and check into Hotel 4*. The rooms of the hotel are decorated in a modern and minimalist style, with perfectly incorporated furniture and each with a view of authentic city locations inside Roman Emperor Diocletian’s Palace. Enjoy the evening in Split on your own.
Day 4 – Split – Vis
Join your guide for a private morning walking tour of Split. Originally the palatial walled summer residence of Roman Emperor Diocletian, Split became a city after Salona, the Roman capital of Dalmatia just 6km north, was sacked in the 7th century. Fleeing refugees were given asylum inside the two meter thick walls of the palace and over the next 1000 years, the “city” of Split was such a safe haven, it never grew beyond those same walls that exist today! As a result, the remarkable ensemble of Roman, Gothic, Romanesque, Renaissance and other architectural remains are all still here— more than 3,000 people still live within the ancient walls. But Split is more than its walled palace, it’s about enjoying the local way of life. Leave for Vis on an afternoon ferry. You will be assisted with luggage and tickets. Upon arrival to Vis island, check into Hotel 4*, a charming, small family-run hotel located in the historic center of Vis town. Enjoy the remainder of the day on your own.
Day 5 – Vis – Biševo
Magical Vis, it’s hard to imagine that such a gorgeous island, just 60 miles from the Italian coast was the most important Greek colony in the Adriatic. Private motorboat transfer to island Biševo in the morning. Famous for its inlets and caves, such as Modra Špilja (the Blue Cave) of the Balun Cove, accessible only by a boat. On a sunny day, when the sea is calm, especially at noon, sunbeams penetrate through an underwater opening in the Blue Cave and the effect of the sea bottom reflecting and illuminating the cave with the azure color is incredible.
Day 6 – Vis – Hvar
Meet your skipper in the morning for a private motorboat transfer to beautiful Hvar. Upon arrival check into Hotel 4*. Hovering on the waterfront promenade in the heart of the medieval Hvar town, this hotel is one of Croatia’s trendiest boutique hotels. Incorporating a beautiful 100-year-old building, restored in 2006, it brings together the best of both worlds: old world charm and state of the art luxury. You’ll find yourself at home in one of its rooms featuring uniquely designed interiors, contemporary furnishings and an exceptional view of the sun as it sets over the Pakleni islands. Enjoy an evening at leisure.
Day 7 – Hvar
Morning at leisure. Meet your guide in the afternoon to depart on a special wine tasting tour of Hvar. Taste Croatia’s first and only wines that won the Paris World Wine Contest and the Decanter World Wine Awards in London! Our Taste of Hvar, the island of wine tour introduces you to two of Croatia’s most distinguished winemakers, including wine tastings and a unique culinary sunset dinner in an olive grove with views of historic UNESCO listed fields of Stari Grad. Return to Hvar town in the evening.
Day 8 – Hvar – Mali Ston – Dubrovnik
Private transfer from Hvar to Dubrovnik via Drvenik – Sucuraj ferry. En-route you will stop in the town of Mali Ston, home to Croatia’s most delicious oysters, carefully grown in beds throughout the bay. A local oysterman will harvest them right out of the sea for you to enjoy on the spot! As the car heads to the highway, you will have a great opportunity to enjoy the picturesque hillside of Dalmatia’s magical interior: a unique blend of high mountains and small patches of fertile fields. It is part of the country that looks as if it was stopped in time. Upon arrival to Dubrovnik, check into Hotel 5* sitting on a steep cliffside, leading down to the sea with views of the Adriatic stretch from the island of Lokrum round to the old harbor of Dubrovnik. As soon as you walk into the hotel reception, the incredible scenery stops you in your tracks. Lush gardens, with stone fences and secluded corners in which to sit, are filled with lemon, wild orange, rosemary, lavender and bay leaf plants – the flavors of a Mediterranean kitchen. Whether you’re sunbathing on the private beach, with its seaside pool, dining on the restaurant terraces or quietly reading your book in the gardens, spectacular scenery follows you wherever you go. In the afternoon join your guide for a private walking tour of the Old Town. Enjoy an evening at leisure.
Day 9 – Dubrovnik – Kotor – Dubrovnik
Leave at 9 AM to enjoy the spectacular Boka Bay, Montenegro. The Old Town of Kotor lays in the shadows of the fearsome St. John’s Hill and the walls protecting this town are a fortification masterpiece at up to 15 meters wide and 20 meters high each. These walls were skillfully crafted into the natural steep slopes of the hill and the view of this town on approach is one of the most amazing sights, not only of the Mediterranean but of the world. A person’s first look at Kotor, whether from the sea or from the road, always leaves a strong impression. Kotor is unique for several reasons. It is located on the only natural fjord of its kind in the world and in a bay that has made the list of Most Beautiful Bays in the World. But visiting Kotor is about more than beautiful views—it’s also about experiencing the cultural heritage of Montenegro. Reach Dubrovnik in the afternoon.
